Ezogiku Noodle Cafe

It's March already, so why is it still friggin' cold?! I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one asking this question. But yeah, when it's cold, you would want something hot and noodle soup is always a good option. My co-workers have been going to one of the closest ramen places to our company, Ezogiku Noodle Cafe, by Vancouver downtown library.

I have actually been there once long time ago but have not gone back since because they didn't have vegetarian stuff. They made some veggie yakisoba for me that time, which was not bad but I just didn't go back again. Recently, one of my coworkers who have just been there told me he saw on the menu somewhere that they now have vegetarian ramen option available and said I should go try it out when they go.

When I took these pictures, I've actually already been there a couple of times. It's just that I've been writing my trip stuff, I haven't gotten back to any local restaurants. But it looks like it will take me a while to finish all my trip postings, so I thought I should post some local ones here and there.

Anyways, it turned out that you won't see the vegetarian ramen on their menu but if you ask them for it, they will make you one for you :) either with soy sauce based soup or miso based soup.

Vegetarian Ramen with Miso Soup

My coworkers are usually pretty good about me being a vegetarian. They would always check out the menu for me and see what I can have or even have veggie stuff with me here and there and I'm really glad when they do it :) This time however though, when I thought about writing a review on the restaurant thinking I should double check if the soup base they have is vegetarian, my coworkers said to me, yes it is, you have asked them before already. It made me feel that maybe I was embarrassing them if I asked again :P Nevertheless, I still had to ask again, even if it was true that I've asked more than once before but just don't remember and I was embarrassing them. So the waitress told me the soup base they use for vegetarian ramen is vegetarian. That's very good news for me!

I'm really glad now even ramen places are so vegetarian friendly. I will keep an eye out for more ramen places in the future and see which ones also have vegetarian ramens!
