Capstone Tea & Fondue

This is another very delayed post :P It was a girls night out last summer, we decided to try out Capstone at the Richmond location for more convenient parking. It was about 2/3 full when we arrived, only 2 people working at the restaurant that night so the service was a little slow.

After looking over the menu, between the four of us, I think we got the ice cream truffle fondue and the cheesecake decadent fondue.

my tea

chocolate...

They didn't have all the flavours of ice cream that night, from the picture it looked like we had maybe 2 or 3 different flavours. I really enjoyed the ice cream in chocolate fondue, it was really really good. There were also biscuits, cheesecakes, fruits and breads. Definitely too much food for us. We had to pack a lot of leftovers home.

Toppings

I just love how the chocolate hardens right away into a thin crust outside of the ice cream :) So I would for sure go back again for more yummy ice cream fondue!

Where to buy vegetarian products Part II

So sorry this took me a while to get to, finally here this is, where to buy vegetarian products Part II. There are quite a few Chinese vegetarian product stores in the greater Vancouver area, most of the ones I know are in Richmond. Whole Vegetarian Food is probably the one I go most often. They have four different locations if you look at their website. I usually go to the one inside crystal mall in Burnaby, but that store is pretty small. If you want a bigger selection of things, I would recommend going to the one in Richmond on Cambie Road. Unfortunately I haven't been to the other two locations, so I can't comment on how they are.

It has been a while since I last visited the stores. The pictures I have taken are from a few months ago last year. They're from the Cambie Road Store.

It's located right across from Aberdeen Centre, next to President Plaza, and there's limited parking right in the store plaza.

4 Stones Vegetarian Cuisine

4 Stones is always packed with people at meal times, I can't remember if it was late lunch or early dinner when we decided to go, but we were very glad we did not have to wait for a table and also that their parking spots were actually available. The restaurant is located in a small plaza where they only have two customer parking spots and they are always taken.

Spicy Vegetarian Cuisine

This is our first time at the Spicy Vegetarian Cuisine. We've passed by this restaurant many times and heard friends talked about it. Finally we got the chance to try it out for a late dinner.

No.9 Restaurant

It was nine-thirty in the morning on a Saturday, we were trying to decide where to kill an hour of time while waiting for the car to be serviced. Good thing our car shop was right across from Lansdowne Mall but the bad thing was the mall doesn't open that early. As it was wet and cold that day, we decided the only smart thing to do was to have breakfast at No.9.

Leaving Vancouver, Washington and Going Home - Well Tea

Last day of our long weekend trip, it was time to go home. The first thing we wanted to do as soon as we got back was to have some real asian food. It's funny I think this is the first time I've had such bad cravings for asian food on a trip. We needed to make a detour to Richmond, so we went to Well Tea. Well Tea has a good selection of vegetarian dishes and their food is decent, that's why we go there often with non-vegetarian friends. Aside from their one page long vegetarian section, they also have a couple omurice dishes that contain no meat. We picked one of them, the Curry Omurice and Veggie Chicken in Three Spices from the veggie menu section. One of my friends also ordered a veggie dish, the Teppanyaki Tofu with Shredded Bean Curd.

Veggie Bunch Vegetarian Restaurant - Taiwanese Vegetarian Buffet

We've been waiting for Veggie Bunch to reopen ever since it decided to relocate. It's been reopened for a couple months now at its new location on Buswell Street, between Park and Cook Road.

I find that their food is even better than before. The dishes are less greasy and even more delicate. My favourites have always been the stir fried cabbages and veggie sweet and sour porks. Couldn't find cabbages this time, but the sweet and sour porks are still great :) Their soups are yummy too. Hot and sour soup and Chinese herbal medicine soup were the choices that day and I had both. Oh, and they also have the sweet red bean soup, steamed dumplings inside bamboo steamers as well as a big selection of tasty vegetarian dishes. And of course, how can a buffet be completed without ice creams :P Yes, they have a fridge full of buckets of ice creams too!

Some pictures I took of my plates :D and the buffet dishes.
