Waffle Gone Wild

I thought I have finished this and posted it already but apparently it has been sitting in my saved posts for months... So back in May I took my sis-in-law, niece and Korean twin sis to Waffle Gone Wild using this voucher I bought online. Everyone was busy on different days and finally we decided to go on a Tuesday, which I was wondering to myself at the time why I felt we couldn't agree on a day when Tues was wide open. And when we got there, I remembered why... they are closed on Tuesdays... I have checked their website before but after a bunch of rescheduling I forgot about their day-off. So we had to go back again the next day.

Clean and cozy inside. We picked the sit by the end wall. The owner was very friendly and helpful that she kept coming by to ask if we needed any help and also explained to us what was included and not included on the menu with the voucher. For drinks we decided on getting two matcha latte, one hot chocolate and a bubble tea.

For waffles we got strawberry, banana nutella, and one with ice cream, also a savory one with apple and cheese. We get to have one free add-on to each of our waffles. What we actually wanted was ice cream but I ordered mochi ice cream instead of real scoops of ice cream :( Somehow I misread mochi ice cream for matcha ice cream. But waffles were still yummy and mochi ice cream was good as always. We had a fun time enjoying our food and drinks and chatted away like we were the only table there. We will for sure come back again for more waffles and girl dates :)

Capstone Tea & Fondue

This is another very delayed post :P It was a girls night out last summer, we decided to try out Capstone at the Richmond location for more convenient parking. It was about 2/3 full when we arrived, only 2 people working at the restaurant that night so the service was a little slow.

After looking over the menu, between the four of us, I think we got the ice cream truffle fondue and the cheesecake decadent fondue.

my tea

chocolate...

They didn't have all the flavours of ice cream that night, from the picture it looked like we had maybe 2 or 3 different flavours. I really enjoyed the ice cream in chocolate fondue, it was really really good. There were also biscuits, cheesecakes, fruits and breads. Definitely too much food for us. We had to pack a lot of leftovers home.

Toppings

I just love how the chocolate hardens right away into a thin crust outside of the ice cream :) So I would for sure go back again for more yummy ice cream fondue!

Faubourg

I have been to Faubourg a couple of times now. First time was a meet up with my girl friends. Some of us had high tea, some just had brunch. The second time I got to try my own set of afternoon tea :) Faubourg is located in Kerrisdale where in the same area there's at least other two high tea places close by.

Thomas Haas - Fine Hand Made Chocolates

I've seen Thomas Haas' stuff around but never thought too much of it before. I actually discovered it when I was reading Chow Times. So I paid a visit and picked up some gifts as well as a pack of their famous Chocolate Sparkle Cookies. They can be stored in fridge or freezer for up to 3 months and when you want to eat them, just put them into the oven and bake for 8 to 10 mins. For some reasons mine didn't turn out too cookie like >.<... But they still tasted pretty good. I like the Matcha Chocolate Bar. It is white chocolate mixed with matcha green tea. Doesn't that sound so good! It tastes really good too :D <3 Chocolates~~~~~
